It has been suggested that I use Calc Carb (sprayed under the tongue) for post nasal drip. Is this correct?

Yes. You could also try Kali Mur or Kali Sulph or Ferrum Phos – any one of these should help for a post nasal drip / excessive nasal mucus and congestion.
